This informal, themed dance can't be beat! Calling an informal hall dance an SYR hearkens back to the old days at Notre Dame when students used dances as an opportunity to "Set-up Your Roommate" with a blind date. These days, it's low pressure, and you can come alone or with multiple guests. Whether you go with someone you know or someone you've never met, SYR's are a great way to make channel your creative side with fun costumes, make new friends, and have a blast with your fellow Pyros. SYR's can be held at a variety of venues across campus but are always guaranteed to have great music and food!
Different from SYR's, but just as fun, formals give Pyros a chance to dress up. PE usually hosts its formal in the spring, but dance commissioners begin planning well in advance. Consider joining the dance commission to help make our formal and SYR the enjoyable events that they are!
Spring Formal 2016
Dresses don't slow us down. PE's 2016 formal, held in South Dining Hall, involved just as much fiery music and dancing as our SYR.
Because we won Hall of the Year, next year's formal will be under the Dome in the Main Building! This will most likely be in the fall, so it's never to early to start picking out your dress!!
