Heyo Pyros! Welcome to the hottest dorm on campus (*fire emoji*). The entire Welcome Week team is so ready for you all to make your way to campus. On campus, you can find me running (very slowly) around the lakes, studying in the back of North Dining Hall, or swiping some free coffee from Geddes Hall.  I am a part of the Nicaraguan Public Health Brigade Club, Biology club, ND Puppy of the Week Club, and perhaps most importantly, I am a proud member of the newly crowned CHAMPIONSHIP WINNING interhall ping-pong team (and a sub-par, yet enthusiastic, contributor to other PE interhall sports teams). Come visit me to talk if you have any questions about ND or PE. Welcome home ladies!!

Next year, I’ll be one of PE’s SNSA commissioners. Feel free to ask me about any of these things, you’ll find me in the quint in 6B! Outside of ND, you’ll often hear me talking about my dog, Honey (she’s adorable and you’ll probably meet her because again, #townieperks), reading, or enjoying a sunny day on North Quad! I can’t wait to share my love for PE + ND with you guys!

Caitlin O.

Hello fellow pyros! Welcome to PE! My name is Caitlin. I am a junior Biochemistry major with a supplementary major in Peace Studies, looking to attend medical school after graduation. I  am from Clarksville, Maryland, which is about halfway between Baltimore and Washington DC. On campus, I am involved in retreat planning (especially the Freshman Tender, Strong and True retreat and the PE retreat) and PE’s hall council. I also work at the wonderful University Writing Center, which offers free tutoring for all types of writing (10/10 would recommend). I love soccer, basketball, photography, movies, the musical Hamilton, chocolate, and spontaneous dance parties. You’ll probably see me (or more accurately hear me) humming to myself around the dorm, and if you ever want to nerd out with fun bio facts, debate the state of human civilization, or just chat, come find me in the 6B quint!

Picture
Mary R.

Hey Pyros!!! My name is Mary, and I am so excited to welcome you to our fiery home (don’t worry we have air conditioning.) I am a sophomore Business Analytics major with a possible minor in Studio Art, and I am from Seal Beach, California. “Why would you leave the sunny beach to come to South Bend,” you might ask. Well, the dome is GORGEOUS when it is snowing. Anyways, when I am not admiring the dome, I am usually at practice. I am a coxswain (the person who yells and steers the boat) on the Women’s Rowing team here at Notre Dame! I consider myself to be a passionate ceramicist, croc enthusiast, Game of Thrones fan, and lover of all dogs. Sometimes we have dogs just hanging out on North Quad, and it is truly the best thing ever! If you ever miss your dog/pet, just come talk to me and we can obsess over cute dog/pet pictures. I also seriously love ridiculous puns and dad jokes… so if you ever have one then I am all ears. Welcome to PE!!

Picture
Sophie R.

Hey there Pyro sisters! Welcome to the PE family!!! My name is Sophie, and I am from Phoenix, Arizona. My major is Chemical Engineering. On campus, I am part of Circle K, American Institute for Chemical Engineers, and the Center for Social Concerns. Day to day, catch me running around the lakes (at yet a slower pace than @ChloeM), sneaking in a nap or two, and “getting homework done” in the elounge (a place where friendships are formed<3). One thing I remember (and look back on longingly during the winter) is that welcome weekend was HOT, so I will tell you in advance, you’re doing amazing sweaties!!! Cannot wait to get to know you and see each of you turn your unique spark into a FLAME here at ND!

Picture
Emilie S.

Welcome to PE!! My name is Emilie, and I’m so excited to welcome you all to campus! I’m from Newington, Connecticut and I am a sophomore Chemistry and Spanish double major on the pre-med track. On campus, I am a part of the club field hockey team, play for PE on the interhall lacrosse team, and am a part of She’s the First, a club that promotes female education in rural communities. In my free time, I love to bake, (re)watch Friends, and listen to all different types of music (especially music in Spanish)! So if you ever want to talk about who is really the best character in Friends (Phoebe 100%), listen to some new music, or just talk, feel free to stop by my room in 8B! :) I can’t wait to meet you all. Welcome home Pyros!!

Picture
Emma S.
Hello and welcome, new Pyros! My name is Emma and I am a junior Mechanical Engineering major from Erie, PA, which you may have heard of because it is the snowiest city in the US. On campus, I am the President of the Women’s Rugby Club (definitely give it a try, no experience necessary! I serve as a teaching assistant in the philosophy department, and am an executive member of PE’s hall council. I love doing things outdoors and playing as many interhall sports as possible (especially flag football and soccer). My favorite places on campus include the Grotto, modern market (yum), the 10th floor of the library, and of course, Pasquerilla East Hall. If I’m off campus, I’m probably driving somewhere with the windows down (even if it’s cold I blast the heat so I can roll down the windows) listening to music that’s probably a little too loud. I am always up for making new friends and love talking to new people, so send me an email if you have any questions or just want someone to get coffee or chat with. I am so excited to welcome you all to the Notre Dame community and your new home in PE! You’re in for a great year!

Maureen S.

Hello friends! My name is Maureen and I’m a senior from Dublin, Ohio. I’m majoring in theology and sociology with a minor in Catholic Social Tradition. Through my time at ND I’ve been involved in hall government, parent programming, student journalism, various Campus Ministry commitments, and the Glynn Family Honors Program. This summer I went to Jinja, Uganda through the Center for Social Concerns’ International Summer Service Learning Program. One of my favorite things about PE is our dedicated hall staff, and the sense that we’re coming back to home base at the end of every day under the Dome. Also I think the PE laundry room smells like heaven itself. Random fun fact: I (accidentally) set my hair on fire at PE Candlelight Mass during my freshman year. Extra irony because yes, we are the fiery Pyros, and I am also a redhead! Come find me to ask me about that or share something that matters to you - your family, your friends, or your feelings about your future at ND. I love listening! God bless and Go Pyros <3

Picture
Pam U.

Hey there new Pyro-fam! I’m Pamela, but I usually go by Pam (#pamlikethespray).I’m a senior in the hottest dorm on ND’s campus. Currently I am finishing a double double major in PLS and Marketing (its a hectic life and I talk about it alot haha!!). I hail from America’s greatest city, New York (the Bronx to be exact!) and don’t worry you’ll hear me constantly talk about our amazing bagels, pizza, and superior water quality. As far as activities go I spend most of my time with the Softball Team here on campus since I the head manager! But I’ve also held a variety of different jobs on campus so feel free to ask me about that! I was  on PE’s amazing flag football team (#PEFFB) for the past three years and will be again this year so make sure you sign up!

I spend most of my time on campus in the softball stadium, CoMo, PE, The Library (usually really late at night), probably lafun, and Chipotle on most weekends. I like chatting with people, reading books, and watching countdown videos and movie trailers on youtube. Also I spent this past summer interning with General Mills, home to many of your favorite cereal and snack brands! I am also working on finishing my Senior Thesis this fall! I’m super pumped to meet all of you guys and welcome you to the greatest dorm on campus. I will be living in 8B this year so if anyone ever has any questions about any huge life decisions, wants to ever come get chipotle with me, or wants to make a new friend I’m here! I hope you’re ready for an awesome freshman year!

Picture
Marissa V.

Hello pals! I’m Marissa and I’m so lucky to get to welcome you to your new home:) I am a sophomore SciencePreprofessional major and Collaborative Innovation Design Minor for Pre-Med. I am from a suburb of Indianapolis, and came from a high school that was also the Fighting Irish, so G’IRISH has been my motto for 5 years counting. I work as a tech in an Emergency Room and I’m a Disney princess on the side, so if you want to hear some crazy ER stories/talk pre-med, or jam out to Disney or any music really, come hang. I live for anything active– hiking, swimming, yoga, dancing, surfing–, listening to podcasts, and my mother’s banana bread. On campus, I love being triathlon club president (swimmers, bikers, runners, or D) none of the above, all welcome!), performing with the Humor Artists Improv Comedy team, spending time in PE (your wellness commissioner 2018-19), and researching unmet healthcare needs in the homeless youth of SB. It’s going to be a marvelous year in PE!
